Effective April 15, 2010 all new security guard and/or private investigator applicants must undergo a basic training program and pass a test of their knowledge before they can apply for a license. Existing licensees do not need to take the basic training course, but are required to pass the ministry test before applying for their license renewal.

Loss Prevention Services Limited offers the Basic Training course, and given that we are the premier retail loss prevention service provider to large Canadian retailers, in addition to basic security guard training you will also get a sound understanding of retail investigation. Students may also be assigned to field training in a real life environment.

Upon satisfactory completion, Loss Prevention Services Limited will upload information about your training status and eligibility to write the ministry test.
